The HB Property team has enjoyed the beautiful Fete des Roses at the Ephrussi Rothschild Villa in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, here in the French Riviera.
The amazing villa is a must do for anyone coming to visit the French Riviera. Not only for the magnificent gardens but also in order to get that insight feeling of what life must have been like for the rich and famous a century ago. The villa is a heaven for art collectors with porcelain, furniture – a games table that once belonged to Marie Antoinette and a Louis XIV rug – and paintings by the Great Masters.
You might find the entrance fee a bit expensive – 15 euros – but it is money well spent as the location has a lot to offer. Nowhere else on the French Riviera will you find a better place to enjoy art, architecture, nature and history all in one place.
The only downside we have found is that it is not easy accessible to people with limited mobility or pushchairs.
The English visitors might be particularly interested as the villa has an amazing tea room. The tea room’s terrace overlooks the Bay of Villefranche and offers unrestricted views of the bay. You can enjoy your high noon tea in the conservatory area overlooking the garden while also admiring the impressive porcelain collection of Baroness Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild.
The villa is also available to rent for receptions and/or weddings so if you are looking for an original and charming location for an important event in your life this is the place to choose.
