You have decided to spend New Year on the French Riviera but you haven’t planned anything yet?
Here are some of our favourite ideas to spend New Year (know here as the Saint Sylvestre) in the South of France like a local!
New Year’s Eve in Cannes
Cannes is a great city to spend New Year’s Eve. The Crazy Horse, will perform in the Palais des Festival for a few days at the end of December. The famous Parisian cabaret is only there for five days so don’t miss this opportunity. God Save Our Bareskin will kick off the party and will be followed by a succession of glamorous, colourful dances.
And what best way to start the year than watching striking fireworks from the Baie de Cannes? The fireworks will begin at Midnight so make sure to head towards the beach to enjoy the view.
If the Crazy Horse is not what you fancy, you could have dinner at one of the numerous restaurants Cannes has to offer.
New Year’s Eve in Antibes
Cannes is a bit too glamorous for your liking? Or you might be looking for something quieter? Then head to Antibes and celebrate New Year’s Eve in the small coastal city.
With its wide range of world cuisine you will be sure to find something you will love, in a picturesque town.
The party does not end at midnight, you can assist to a gig by an orchestra at the Palais des Congres. One session will start at 11am and a second one at 4pm.
New Year’s Eve in Nice
As a big city, Nice offers various options. The Cabaret du Casino Rhul hosts a New Year’s Eve event with over 1h30 of spectacular show. You could even go enjoy the Casino after the clock strikes midnight and party until the morning!
If you fancy a different type of cabaret, the Theatre de la Cite organises a Burlesque New Year’s Eve event. Dress up as a pin-up, gangster or retro chic and enjoy a glamorous night.
New Year’s Eve in Monaco
The city organises a big music show from 9PM to 3AM with DJs and fireworks at midnight. The party will take place in the heart of the Christmas Village on Quai Albert Ier.
If you’re feeling in a gambling mood to celebrate the New Year then head to the neighborhood of Monte-Carlo. You could visit one of the Casinos, Casino de Monte-Carlo or Casino Café de Paris, just to name a few.
New Year’s Eve in Saint Tropez
Saint-Tropez is the place to be in the Summer but it is also an amazing place to spend New Year’s Eve. Treat yourself to one of the numerous restaurants offering a New Year’s Eve menu.
Finish the year watching a beautiful firework over the Pier.
