A 30-minute drive to the west of Nice will take you to one of the French Riviera’s oldest medieval towns, Saint-Paul de Vence. This walled town is the perfect place for a picturesque stroll. It offers plenty to enthral history buffs: the 14th-century Collegiate Church, a 12th-century keep, the 15th-century Chapelle des Pénitents-Blancs and more.
Keep driving beyond Saint-Paul de Vence and you’ll reach Grasse, famed for its perfume making tradition. It’s a town where over two-thirds of French-made perfumes are blended. You can enjoy a tour of one of the local perfumeries, as well as taking a wander through the quaint old town.
Just an 8km drive from central Nice, the coastal town of Villefranche-sur-Mer is one of the deepest Mediterranean harbours. So, you’re sure to see plenty of large ships and yachts. The principality of Monaco is just 21km from Nice, it’s a place that epitomises luxury.
