Neighbourhood: Located in the heart of the Old Town, on Rue Droite also known as the Artist’s street this apartment offers you the best starting point for exploring the whole region. Rue Droite is one of the liveliest and most authentic streets with many bars, restaurants and art galleries. On the same street you can find two of the oldest restaurants in Nice – Le Palmyre and Acchiardo – the last one right at the ground floor of the building.

Floor/Building: The apartment is on the 4th floor of a former italian palace. Inhabited in the past by the rich italian aristocracy the building has preserved it’s original architecture. The staircase is classed as a historical monument due to the wooden structure which was hand carved by medieval Turkish artisans.

Living Area: Throughout the apartment the original tiles -“tomettes” – have been preserved. There is a large wooden dinning table which seats five and a sofa for three. From the dining table you can admire the beautiful view of the Old Town buildings with it’s unique charm and enjoy the amazing light at sunset that has fascinated so many artists, including Matisse. Both living area and bedroom have big contemporary style chandeliers. And to add to the modern style there is a wide flat screen television that can play 3D movies (glasses provided).

Kitchen: The separated kitchen is fully equipped and follows the style present in the apartment combining modern and ancient style. You have an authentic butcher’s table which can be used as a work plan and an industrial style breakfast table with two chairs. The Hoover  stove/oven is top of the range with automatic cooking mode. You also have a microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine and all necessary cooking ustensils. The washing machine is also located in the kitchen and as any respectable South of France property, the apartment has a wine cooler with different temperature settings to make sure every glass is properly enjoyed.

Bedroom: The double glazed windows and the fact that the bedroom overlooks a side street will ensure that you can have a good night’s sleep in spite of being in the center of the town. The bedroom is furnished in a very typical french style with victorian bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and desk.  There are several original art prints that come to complete the boutique style decor. Both doors to the bedroom and living area are the original ones from the XIXth  century and they are designed to shut themselves – it was a manner of preserving the heat in the rooms should you forget to close the door.

Bathroom: Newly renovated, the bathroom is in a minimalist style as to not draw the attention from the rest of the apartment. It offers yet all the comfort needed with a central wash basin with vanity unit, a shower cabin, toilet and heated towel rail.
